error reading SPU2 files from PCSX2 emulator

just for the fun of it, i installed PCSX2 on my WinXP desktop. but when i was doing the first time configuration, i noticed that it is not able to "see" the spu2-x.dll that is in the plug-in folder. i have tried renaming the file to spu2.dll. but no such luck. is there another place i can get the the needed SPU2 file or am i "dead in the water"?

UPDATE: i have managed to figure out the issue and have gotten the emulator to work on my winXP rig.

What was the fix, so others having similar issues might possibly have resolution?
